The backing is a piece of material that is hooped and acts like a stabilizer which stops the fabric from stretching or puckering throughout the embroidery process. I’m glad I was able to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of some kids, and I hope that I can continue to contribute to the program in the future.Underlay is the stitching in the design that is done first and is used to hold the fabric to the backing. The embroidery machine was a lot of fun to use, and I really enjoyed creating these pillowcases. I added little puppies, big doggies and even kitties to the corners of the pillowcases using my machine. I embroidered away, creating beautiful pillowcases that would make a big difference in the lives of the kids who received them. But it was easy enough to figure out, and after a few minutes of fiddling around, I was able to get started. To make the pillowcases, I first had to figure out how to use the machine. I knew this would be a great way to give back to the community and help some kids in need.
The lady who was selling it was going blind, and she offered me the machine for free if I promised to make 100 embroidered pillowcases for the program.
